Over the past couple of months, we’ve been covering OnLive’s efforts to bring remote virtualization of Windows applications to the iPad, offering access to Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, and Flash-enabled web browsing through Windows 7. OnLive may, however, be running into some difficulties with Microsoft over its offerings, with ZDNet pointing to a Microsoft blog post discussing licensing arrangements for remote desktop streaming and its belief that OnLive is not meeting these requirements.

Companies are permitted to offer some “desktop-like functionality” to users via remote hosting, but Windows 7 itself and Office provided through a hosted Windows 7 installation are specifically excluded. An alternative method allowing for full remote hosting would require that the end user hold a license with Microsoft for the software and that the remote hardware used to host the Windows installation be dedicated to that specific customer. OnLive’s services certainly do not seem to meet either…

There are countless rumours surrounding the successor of the #iPhone 4S. Now, a new rumour suggests that Apple could use glass to construct the highly anticipated iPhone5.

The majority of reports claim that the next generation iPhone will be constructed out of aluminum. However, iLounge begs to differ. According to its sources, the Cupertino firm is in the process of experimenting on various materials that can be used on their next iPhone’s rear casings. Two of these materials are said to be ceramics and glass.

iLounge also says that the iPhone 5 will be slimmer in comparison to past models such as the iPhone 4 and the current iPhone 4S. This is thanks to the use of Gorilla Glass 2 display by Corning.

The source adds that Apple is considering a larger display on the iPhone 5. It also says that the usual 30-pin Dock Connector on iPhones may possibly be phased out soon. If true, we’re hoping makes use micro-USBs instead.

The iPhone 5 is expected to land sometime in September 2012..

Do you think Apple will construct the iPhone 5 out of glass, or do you believe Apple will stick to a design that has brought them tons of success? Express your opinion as comment.

Thank you.

According to GOOGLE, Google Wallet is safer to use  compared to credit cards- only if you didn’t root your mobile phones. Osama Bedier, VP of Google Wallet and Payments, said on the Google Commerce Blog,

1. Google Wallet offers advantages over the plastic cards and folded wallets in use today.

2. That’s why in most cases, rooting your phone will cause your Google Wallet data to be automatically wiped from the device.”

This announcement comes after Google’s wireless payment system was hacked. Google Wallet is still not available in the UK, but is said to land in the UK before the London Olympics kicks off. Developers at Zvelo, a security website, revealed that the PIN verification system can be bypassed with rooted handsets. Furthermore, according to another report, Wallet credits could be stolen by stealing the phone, clearing data, and an app re-installation.

Provisioning prepaid cards has been temporarily disabled by Google, until a permanent fix to the problem has been developed.

Google adds, “Mobile payments are going to become more common in the coming years and we will learn much more as we continue to develop Google Wallet. In the meantime, you can be confident that the digital wallet you carry provides defenses that plastic and leather simply don’t.”

Angry Birds Space

Curious how Rovio planned on dealing with physics in the forthcoming Angry Birds Space? I have been, too. If we presume that Rovio is playing by the physical laws of space, a lack of gravity fundamentally changes the game. But apparently, that’s the point.

Rovio took us to the international space station, courtesy of the video below of course, to show us a little bit about how the new version of the game will work. An astronaut, Don Pettit, did a little demo flinging a plush red bird in a zero gravity environment. It should go without saying, but that little red bird flew straighter than an arrow through the space station.

“We’re seeing all of this in a weightless environment, which is what Angry Birds Space will look like, with gravitational fields from planetary bodies,” said Pettit.

But then we got to the really cool part: the first time…
